We're Hiring!

We’re a funded hardware startup on a mission to redefine how drinks are dispensed and managed. Our connected smart drink dispensers, paired with a robust Cloud Dashboard, give customers, distributors, and our internal team the power to manage and maintain a global fleet; remotely and securely.

With new funding secured, we’re building our foundational software team. This is our first software engineering hire, so you’ll help lay the technical bedrock for everything that follows.

Software Engineer (Full Stack / Generalist)
Ultimo, Sydney

As our first Software Engineer, you’ll take ownership of key features across our web app, backend APIs, and the glue between our cloud platform and physical dispensers. You’ll work directly with the CTO and hardware engineers, shipping production code from day one.

This role is ideal for a versatile, pragmatic engineer. Someone who thrives on building real products end-to-end, enjoys working close to hardware, and is excited to help define the workflows and standards that will shape our growing team.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the Cloud Dashboard: Design and implement core features that serve Customers (machine operators), Distributors (market partners), and Staff (internal back-office).
  • Develop secure backend APIs: Create and maintain RESTful endpoints for user management, fleet monitoring, and real-time machine data.
  • Integrate devices and cloud: Define and test data flows between our smart dispensers in the field and the cloud backend.
  • Establish foundations: Set up CI/CD pipelines, write unit and integration tests, and enforce clean code practices.
  • Own end-to-end delivery: Ship features quickly but with maintainability and security in mind.
  • Collaborate deeply: Work side-by-side with the CTO, hardware designers, and future team members to keep our product reliable and user-friendly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building and maintaining full stack web applications. Our current stack includes Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis, but we value sound engineering over specific tools.
  • Confident designing and implementing REST APIs, handling authentication, and managing user and machine data securely.
  • Comfortable working with hardware-adjacent code; integrating with physical devices, handling edge cases, and debugging real-world systems.
  • Solid grasp of version control, testing, and CI/CD workflows. You write clean, maintainable code and care about long-term reliability.
  • Self-directed and practical. You can take a goal and figure out how to get there without excessive hand-holding.
  • Ready to operate in a startup environment; broad scope, shifting priorities, and a focus on delivery. You’ll be the first software hire, so ownership and initiative matter.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with IoT systems or cloud-connected hardware.
  • Familiarity with deployment workflows and containerisation, even if that's not how we currently ship.
  • Attention to user experience; you don’t need to be a designer, but you care if an interface is confusing or inefficient.

What You’ll Get

  • Real impact from day one: the systems you build will connect directly to physical devices in the field, powering monitoring, control, and customer experience.
  • Clear ownership: you’ll be responsible for core product features and infrastructure decisions, not just small pieces.
  • Early equity: while the salary reflects our early stage, you’ll receive meaningful equity with long-term upside if we succeed.
  • Growth path: as the company grows, so does your opportunity; whether that’s moving into leadership or deep technical specialisation.
  • Breadth of work: frontend, backend, device communication, deployment. You’ll touch every part of the system.
  • Direct collaboration: work side-by-side with the CTO, hardware engineers, and early customers. Fast decisions, short feedback loops.

How to Apply

Send us your CV and a short note about something you’ve built that makes you proud; especially if it combines hardware and cloud. We love practical examples and clear thinking.
